Raw Dairy Free Chocolate Recipe!

Making your own chocolate is so easy and is a super healthy alternative to chocolate you find at the grocery store checkouts!

Yes chocolate can be and IS NATURALLY a health SUPER FOOD! Raw cacao comes from a bean and is bitter. On top of being extremely high antioxidant, it’s also a source of Magnesium, Zinc, Iron and Fibre!

When cacao is processed, heated, loaded with refined sugar and unhealthy fats such as those found at the grocery store checkout, it looses its superfood powers.

Making your own chocolate is super easy and ridiculously tasty!

Ingredients:

1/4 cup of Virgin Coconut Oil

1/3 cup of raw cacao

3-4 TBS of Maple Syrup (more or less depending on how sweet you like it)

pinch of Himalayan salt

Optional Add Ins – cayanne pepper for spice lovers, almonds, cashews, hemp hearts, pecans, rasins, gogi berries (or any other nuts or dried fruits)

Directions:

Place coconut oil in a pot on a low heat to melt it (if not already melted as it would be on a hot summer day). Turn the heat off as soon as the oil is melted. Add in the raw cacoa and stir until there are no clumps. Add in the maple syrup and salt. Place the mixture on a pan or parchment paper on cookie sheet. This is when you can sprinkle in any of the add ins you want! Place it in the freezer until it has hardened. (approx 10 min)

Keep stored in the fridge or freezer.

Enjoy! xo
